2016

NEW Year and New challenges. NEW resolutions although I don't like to call them resolutions because You always feel bad when You fail Your resolution, right. Challenge is a much nicer and more motivating word.
I wanted to come back to blogging a while ago but only now the time has come. My littlest is now nearly two (next week party-woohoo) and eldest 4,5 so well established in reception. I am hoping to find some time to blog, share my inspirations here and challenges that I want to achieve this year. I know I stopped making clothing. Apologies for this, but while I had lots of ideas, simply not the timescale to complete them. Thats why, You'll see I started selling prints. Check out my etsy shop as they're all at super low january price now. Eventually I want to start making clothing again, but that will not happen until I'll well establish my challenges. I'm an illustrator You see, so I love drawing most. I like the idea of transferring them from paper to different medias, but thats a really long-term goal. My challenge of this year is to  draw and make as many illustration as possible, all at best quality ofcourse. Powered up by 2016 already and inpired by nature like never before. Let the plant trend stay here for good. X

weekend project: statement banner

It's really a few hours project but the series of my diy posts will be called as mentioned. It's really fun wall décor/ statement banner so popular on pinterest lately. But, I will be using paper instead of fabric, just because it's quicker. I love a good  banner, but what I don't like is the motivational sentences on it; be happy, dream big;it just annoys me. So I decided to make mines dedicated to my son's.

i clean every day and my house is a mess

What's Your biggest issue as a housewife? I could probably name numerous tasks but the biggest that is always going out of control is the laundry.

Sorry, the quality of that picture isn't great as I took it with my macbook.

I have to be organised to be on top of thing. Yet this happens. Orrrr the baby happens, meaning I put stuff in the wardrobe, 5 mins later they are out of the wardrobe. Sometimes I just think "Whats the point..?" and leave it on the floor until the kids are in bed. Sometimes I clean it straight away. The sleep really matters here and how many hours I managed to sleep without interruptions.

Sooo, I got myself a spirulina and let me tell You, this stuff is powerful! It's packed with lots of vitamins, iron, calcium and more; gives You natural kick and it's produced from algae. I felt worn out. I got 3 jobs (two of them that I love). I am a mother of two small children. With spirulina I started my smoothie detox. Basically one of my resolution was to be healthy, so with that I could eat lots and lots of vegetables and fruits per day and it feels great. Next step, I will purchase maca powder and some other goodies to keep up with my busy life.
Today I folded all the laundry, putted them in the wardrobe and cleaned the entire house. Did some gardening, went shopping, worked on illustration, went for a walk with Vini and picked up Antek from school. Then we had a bit of a drama, because Antek is picky with food, and now they are in bed so I can write this post.

This feels like an achievement...to have all things from the list in head done by the end of the day. I deserve a pat on the shoulder. I did well! Good luck Good night!

plants and update

It's been a while since I've written anything here. THIS will change, I promise. Recently I've taken too much on myself. Having two blogs, facebook page, new collection to draw and print and a commission for an illustration project that You'll hear about very soon was a bit much. All of these plus a double mothering forced me to abandon the virtual side of the brand. That's why I've decided to close down my other blog (www.ohantek.blogspot.com) that was created mostly for my parents to keep them up to date with the kiddos.

So, to make things going here I will have few regular posts such as Illustration inspiration, personal pictures, work progress, interviews and casual healthy meals recipe. How does it sounds?

On the other note I am obsessed with gardening at the moment. All I needed was few sunny days, and although it's cold again, I'm hooked. I'm a beginner tho. Since I left the house with a big garden in national park as a child, I lived in flats in UK for years and recently we moved to a flat with a backyard and I want to make all nice for the kids with some greens and space to eat outside. The space isn't big but I have lots of ideas and I need to say that digging in the soil give me huge satisfaction.

On that note I'll give You a hint that the new collection will consist of plants. I'm thinking: ferns, philodendrons like cheeseplants and such. Beauties!

2014/2015

2014 was good. The beginning of the year brought the arrival of my second son Vincenty, also known as Vini, Viniol, Vitek, Vinyl. He is a darling. My other darling started school in September which was super hard for a non english speaking kid. He was a bit of an outsider at first plus settling in and the idea of being apart wasn't appearing to him. Now he loves it and starting to speak both languages. Win.

In 2014 I discovered Azaelia Banks. These days I'm not up to date with music but she will definitely make me dance. Music wise I also discovered FKA Twigs. Not entirely my cup of tea but I like the concept and it's a plesure to watch her dance moves. My other faves of 2014 include Frances Ha. I found a bit of myself in her and definitely a sectional view of our generation. I watched it like at least 3 times now. I also liked Portlandia, a late back, relaxing series about all the hipsterism and todays society told in Monty Python kind a way. Perfect for lonely evenings when kiddos are in bed.

In 2014 I started NEONbubu as a kids and adult clothing brand. It is still in an embryo stage as it's difficult to organise myself with the kiddos and so it's growing slowly but steady. I have lots of new ideas and starting drawing for summer collection. Really excited for 2015. I'm making plans for this year not only work related. I have some resolutions regarding mine and my family health and well being. Staying fit and healthy is our main goal. Vini will turn ONE in a few weeks time, then is my birthday. This spring/summer I want to start gardening and have few raised beds with vegetables on. I need/want to draw more and do more prints for the shop. Oh, by the way, this reminds me of a 2015 diary. If You haven't got yourself one yet, get Wor Diary 2015 with my ilustration for one week of December.

Happy New YEAR! Here is to more dancing, more efficiency, more creativity, staying healthy and keeping fit. Remember kids, eat your vegetables or even grow them!
