plants and update

It's been a while since I've written anything here. THIS will change, I promise. Recently I've taken too much on myself. Having two blogs, facebook page, new collection to draw and print and a commission for an illustration project that You'll hear about very soon was a bit much. All of these plus a double mothering forced me to abandon the virtual side of the brand. That's why I've decided to close down my other blog (www.ohantek.blogspot.com) that was created mostly for my parents to keep them up to date with the kiddos.

So, to make things going here I will have few regular posts such as Illustration inspiration, personal pictures, work progress, interviews and casual healthy meals recipe. How does it sounds?

On the other note I am obsessed with gardening at the moment. All I needed was few sunny days, and although it's cold again, I'm hooked. I'm a beginner tho. Since I left the house with a big garden in national park as a child, I lived in flats in UK for years and recently we moved to a flat with a backyard and I want to make all nice for the kids with some greens and space to eat outside. The space isn't big but I have lots of ideas and I need to say that digging in the soil give me huge satisfaction.

On that note I'll give You a hint that the new collection will consist of plants. I'm thinking: ferns, philodendrons like cheeseplants and such. Beauties!

2014/2015

2014 was good. The beginning of the year brought the arrival of my second son Vincenty, also known as Vini, Viniol, Vitek, Vinyl. He is a darling. My other darling started school in September which was super hard for a non english speaking kid. He was a bit of an outsider at first plus settling in and the idea of being apart wasn't appearing to him. Now he loves it and starting to speak both languages. Win.

In 2014 I discovered Azaelia Banks. These days I'm not up to date with music but she will definitely make me dance. Music wise I also discovered FKA Twigs. Not entirely my cup of tea but I like the concept and it's a plesure to watch her dance moves. My other faves of 2014 include Frances Ha. I found a bit of myself in her and definitely a sectional view of our generation. I watched it like at least 3 times now. I also liked Portlandia, a late back, relaxing series about all the hipsterism and todays society told in Monty Python kind a way. Perfect for lonely evenings when kiddos are in bed.

In 2014 I started NEONbubu as a kids and adult clothing brand. It is still in an embryo stage as it's difficult to organise myself with the kiddos and so it's growing slowly but steady. I have lots of new ideas and starting drawing for summer collection. Really excited for 2015. I'm making plans for this year not only work related. I have some resolutions regarding mine and my family health and well being. Staying fit and healthy is our main goal. Vini will turn ONE in a few weeks time, then is my birthday. This spring/summer I want to start gardening and have few raised beds with vegetables on. I need/want to draw more and do more prints for the shop. Oh, by the way, this reminds me of a 2015 diary. If You haven't got yourself one yet, get Wor Diary 2015 with my ilustration for one week of December.

Happy New YEAR! Here is to more dancing, more efficiency, more creativity, staying healthy and keeping fit. Remember kids, eat your vegetables or even grow them!

Greetings in 2012

So, we approached 2012. Is the New Year being good so far to You? I'm busy with new creative resolutions but started the Year pretty lazy with nursing my baby and starting on weaning. Plans for this year is to expand the slowly growing BUBUdesign and speed up that growth as well. I have started to work on childrens book. I don't want to say too much, but it will be whimsical, magical and filled with creatures. At the end, BUBU is mostly about creatures. Of course it's about graphic design, patterns, hair and molecules inspired illustration, and crafts but mostly about creatures. That's how it all started. From a single creature.
Another resolution is to create more. A thing every day. At the moment I'm finnishing (it's never-ending process but I need a break anyway...) decorating my flat and will give You a little tour once I'm done. Just waiting for the carboot sales to be re-started in FEBRUARY so I can go for a decor hunt... So the past months was creating the flat decor...
Moreover, reading is my another of main resolution. Got lots of books for Christmas and would like to start on them... Therefore I announce: TODAY is a reading DAY...

P.S. Update in the SHOP

have a lovely weekend
